Privately owned office block in Luton town centre, the existing lift was dated and unreliable. The owners were refurbishing the building and wanted to upgrade the lift.
We installed new control equipment, door operator and re-wired to enable the lift meet the full standards of the DDA. We also refurbished the lift car interior with a mixture of stainless steel, laminate wall coverings, mirrors and handrails.
A new ceiling was installed with upgraded lighting and car and landing push stations including digital position indicators fully complying with DDA compliance - and re-sprayed all the hand painted doors in a grey-white RAL finish.
The lift was handed over to the client on time just before the Christmas break, providing trouble free service since. An annual maintenance agreement is in place.
Berkeley Business Centres at Stratford, requested advice on meeting the accessibility standards of all their lifts to DDA EN81.
They also wanted to refurbish the car interiors and to have additional works to meet the standard.
We removed the existing finishes and installed part plastic laminate, part stainless steel wall coverings, a new push station, new ceiling panels with lighting and a new floor covering. The internal doors, which were originally painted, were re-clad in stainless steel.
We also installed an autodial telephone system and voice enunciators to announce floor designation, renewing all the landing push stations for fully DDA compliant versions and electronic detector edges to the car doors at the same time. All 32 landing doors were re-sprayed in the evenings to avoid inconvenience.
Through consultation with HSBC's building contractor, the plans to bring the existing passenger lift up to DDA Standard EN81 were to include updated designs and finishes along with a scheduled programme of works. Because of the work restrictions within a major bank, our engineers had to work though the nights to complete the works. The refurbishment was completed ahead of schedule and was back in normal service within a week.
Once finished HSBC was left with a lift which looked brand new and reached all of the necessary regulations.
HSBC was so happy with the completed works they have awarded JDR Lift Services with the contract to complete the same works to another lift at their Chichester Branch.
A London building renovation to create up-market offices. The client wanted the lift to look contemporary along with all safety and DDA features with complete reliability.
We replaced all of the control equipment along with shaft switches, wiring, position equipment, landing and car buttons. Landing doors and architraves were replaced for new versions of the same.
The lift interior was re-fitted with a mix of opti-white glass and satin stainless steel, along with a new ceiling with halogen down lighters. The result was a very sleek and stylish lift interior with complete DDA compliance and great reliability.
The customer was extremely happy and has recommended us for further works.
